On #13, the guys removed all of the briars and undesirable vegetation on the right side of the cart path. If you remember this area, you know how much work was involved!
Our in-house rock masons are continuing along with the curbing at the Hudson House and we can even see light at the end of the tunnel! We made the decision to carry the curbing down to Dillard Road and mirror the same look on the opposite side of the road along the security building. These areas have always been a pet peeve of mine because it was hard to contain the mulch and plants along the road, that led to a sloppy look. This has officially changed this year!
Above, we've determined the cavitation occurring around this drain at the clubhouse was the result of a poor job compacting the soil after the initial installation in 2005. The soil is very soft in various parts of the holes. We will fix the problem by back filling with clean gravel and then a thick layer of concrete.
This morning, there was a 40%-50% chance of rain. Well, by 9:30 AM, this is what we had! It snowed very hard for about an hour or two before tapering off. Numerous accidents were reports around Highlands and it even lead to us scraping and salting all club roads.
Below, a pretty picture of snow on the 6th hole.
At the back of the range, the roof is just about complete!
