Wild Hog Damage

I saw this on a golf course in Hayesville, NC yesterday.  Wild hogs are know to dig for grubs during this time of year. Grubs are a food source for several animals including raccoons, skunks and hogs. A preventative insecticide treatment in the first 2 weeks of June will ensure you never have to deal with this. It amazes me that most of the local landscapers in Highlands do not understand how simple and inexpensive it is to prevent this from  happening. Most recently, I saw a member was charged for a "preventative September grub application" that cost several hundred dollars by a reputable landscape contractor in the area that you would know (and shall remain nameless).  A preventative grub control application in September will do absolutely NOTHING.  The larva are already active and feeding.  I'm constantly amazed at the amount of people in this area who earn a living doing things they know nothing about.  It isn't fair to their customers and it's irresponsible to the environment.
