Of course, not everything I share has to do with the Club. When I see interesting articles on social media, I will share them. I saw these photos today- personally, I haven’t seen these before.
Texas, February of 1949. Ben Hogan and his wife were seriously injured in a car accident. This accident with a Greyhound bus, left Hogan with a slew of injuries from a broken pelvis and ribs to name a few.
The story sets the stage for one of the most exciting finishes in Golf at the 1950 US Open at Merion where Hogan won the championship.
Though not the actual car, this is the model that was driven by Hogan that hit the Greyhound bus head on. In 1950, this photo was made famous and one of the greatest photos in all of Golf...the famous one iron!
