I'm happy to introduce our newest team member, Harold Davis. Harold was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC and bring 33 years of golf course experience with him. At the age of 15, he started working at Hickory Meadows GC which sparked an interest in the golf industry and led him to pursue a degree in Turfgrass Management at NC State University. After college, Harold worked as the Assistant Superintendent at Raleigh CC (which was incidentally Donald Ross' last design). In 1999, Harold moved to Florida where he was assistant superintendent at Boca Woods for 7 years. He left there for the Superintendent position at Winston Trails GC, where he worked for another 7 years. Most recently, Harold spent 3 years as a superintendent at the Polo Club of Boca Raton. Harold currently lives in Sapphire, NC with his wife of 23 years, Jill. Jill is currently employed at the Bascom. His hobbies include fishing, golf and photography. He has served as a volunteer firefighter for 14 years and an EMT for 2 years. Harold and his wife have also been involved with a Florida based organization (Place of Hope) that works with foster children- something I have quite a bit of admiration for!
We are excited to have Harold on board and his primary responsibility will be the day to day maintenance of the practice facility. He will do a wonderful job and represent Highlands CC well!
