Tuesday

I'm amazed at how much the sod on #10 rough has greened up in just a matter of days.  The definition is fantastic.

Below, a new locust fence on #12 will enhance the beauty of the hole.

A pretty shot of the 14th:

This is interesting...while the temperatures have been above normal this winter and early spring, the Forsythia suggest we really aren't too far ahead (in regards to plant growth and development) compared to average years.  Forsythia petal drop is often used by many as the proper timing for applying crabgrass pre-emergent chemicals to lawns.  This is a reliable "bio-indicator" and the timing of its flowering this year, is just as it is every other year.  At HCC, we will be fertilizing and pre-emerging the golf course in Mid April, the same time we do it each year.  I've always used these shrubs growing along Hummingbird Lane as my indicator.
