Tree work has commenced and the targets are (for the most part) dying White Pines that are in decline. On the 1st hole, three in total were leaning pretty hard, 2 of them over our chemical mix and load facility. It's so important to stay on top of this in order to prevent it from becoming a massive and expensive project.
With very cold temperatures the past few mornings, you can now see the amount of Zoysiagrass that remains in the tee box on #3. Its less than 50%, probably in the 30-40% range. This means the other grasses we seeded into the tees have taken over, using the Zoysia as an "overseed bed." So far, I like what I see in regards to the durability of the turf in a tough environment.
On #6, we pumped about 4 yards of concrete to attempt to stop the leak in the pond. I've been battling this for a number of years and exhausted all ideas. The concrete will not be seen since it is under water level. We will also paint it black, making it disappear under water.
Staff is doing a nice job on the steps at the croquet court. The steps turn 90* and 4 more steps will go to the top of the road.
