Its that time of year- germination of summer annuals that are controlled post emergently. Clover is the most common we face. Here, on #1, is a patch of flesh eating clover that will consume small women and children. Actually it won't but it makes me feel like I'm doing the world a favor when I spray it and kill it.
On #7, Greg and I decided to install bollards to seal off the path from traffic from potential cars. It has always been way to inviting.
The new croquet lawns will be ready for play on next Saturday, April 30th. I hung two flower baskets and planted Creeping Jenny and Blue Mazus along with the turf between the stepping stones. Pachysandra was added to areas around boxwoods. What a great project! Below, Azaleas line a small portion of guard rail. It's still early for flowers but these can be moved into the closet if cold weather is forecasted.
Below, we have our Intermediate rough down to height (0.75"). This is an important detail and one I am proud of.
#16 green is happiest this time of year because it receives more sun now than any other time of year. With 16 green, its a matter of growing good healthy turf through June because after the sun angle starts to change, its all downhill.
