Things may have gotten easier for those supers who deal with nematodes. About 7 years ago, the EPA ruled that Nemacure could no longer be produced and sold. However, if you had or have the product in your inventory, it can still be used per label specifications. Stockpiles are dwindling and there hasn't be one viable replacement to Nemacure yet. Could this be the one? It certainly sounds like it has potential at HCC, where we deal with spiral and stunt nematodes I'm destructive populations. The most notorious and destructive nematode, the sting nematode, is not listed in the article as impacted by this product. Supers who maintain Florida's sandy soil golf courses have the worst case, many infected with sting nematodes wall to wall as opposed to just greens. Imagine dealing with sting nematodes on tees, greens, fairways and roughs! It's not financially feasible to treat all areas and supers simply use cultural practices and altering mowing heights to reduce stress as ways to ride out the waves of population changes that come and go with Nematodes. I started looking into the availability of this and hope the May 2016 date holds true! Stay tuned!
