Monday

Above, you can see the remnants of the wind storm Saturday night.  This led to us having to clean the golf course up a 2nd time.   We are behind on our work for 2 reasons.  One, the croquet complex is pulling people away from the course in order to knock out the small "punch list" details that fall in our jurisdiction.  Second, we are 7 men short on our staff.  The federal government hasn't approved the this group and their arrival date remains up in the air.  This week, we are focused on 3 major tasks: clean up the golf course again, rake all bunkers and finally, lay the sod that's been recently delivered.  If you come to Highlands this weekend with golf in mind, I ask you please be understanding of the challenges we continue to face with regards to staffing.  This crew is working hard, many of them very tired and the season hasn't even started.  5 crew members laying 4-5 truck loads of sod is enough to wear out the best!  It is a focused bunch and we will be ready to go in few weeks.  The greens are still relatively dormant with cooler temperatures on the way.

Below, new sod is installed on the hill between 3 fairway and 3 green.
