Wednesday

We are installing drainage behind the golf course maintenance building that will help the first hole as well as our facility.  Below, is an old irrigation water holding vault (circa 1930's) that is being removed.  This vault is right in the middle of the area we are trying to drain and part of the reason for poor drainage.  This area receives a tremendous amount of sheet flow (water runoff) from the 1st hole.  From now on, we will give it a place to go.  The large Japanese Maple and Boxwood in the center of the picture were set there in 2005 when we removed the landscaping from the old clubhouse.  They looked good there and helped screen the facility so it became their permanent home.

Below, we leveled and enlarged a portion of the practice green approach.  This area will serve numerous purposes including a nicer chipping area.  We have 2,000ft2 of Bentgrass coming tomorrow morning and then 18 pallets of bluegrass coming on Friday morning.

Below, we are continuing on new landscaping and drainage below the stone terrace.  It looks good!  This whole area will be beautiful and functional from now on!

Almost there!  The bridge rails are coming along.  You would not believe how time consuming this project is.  Putting 12" galvanized lag bolts in lumber is not a NASCAR pit stop- timed job!  It is more like the never ending project but satisfying nonetheless!

It took less than 1 day to put the roof on the pavilion.  The crew was up there, standing on the roof, in the rain.  Amazing.  Maybe not smart, but amazing.
