I was speaking to Chairman Davis this morning and later Mr. Smith about the years the new 15th tee was used at HCC. According to Mr. Smith, the tee was removed when Hummingbird Road was built. Looking at a few old plats I have of the Club, I found this 1956 map that shows the Jones tee in what is now, the Berg property. It was removed shortly thereafter because Mr. Smith claims that when he arrived in 1962, the tee was not there. This is such an interesting piece of history we were able to bring back to life! The front nine opened in 1928, and the back nine was open for play around 1930. Therefore, this tee was used circa 1930-1960.
