With the weather just beautiful, we are taking full advantage of projects that we need to complete this winter that do not impact golf. There are a couple POA landscape projects we started on this morning and now we are digging a foundation for the new wall to be added to #5 Jones tee. This will be much like the 16th tee box. Rather than a slope, we are adding a 24-30" wall and extending the Jones tee forward. This is a great project to work on during cold, frosty mornings. We also wanted to get this footer dug before we switch to our smooth, toothless bucket on the excavator. We will use that on our bunker renovation.
Below, the string represents the height of the wall: 23". A common chair is 18", making this a nice sitting wall, not to mention the addition of square footage it adds to the Jones tee and the aesthetics of the tee complex in general.
