Interesting facts...

The fish on #15 were happy to see Jerry with the fish food this afternoon.  It is fun watching them feed because it looks like the water is boiling when the ponds are recently stocked and the trout population is high.

Below, Air Force C130's are flying low over Highlands today.  Interesting fact:  The military uses Western NC as a training ground to train pilots to fly in mountainous regions.  The down drafts and updrafts apparently create tricky scenarios for pilots.  When I first moved to Highlands, my wife and I built a house in the Meadows...a small community just past the hospital.  Our neighbor owned 2 helicopters and dreamed of starting a business to shuttle folks back and forth from Atlanta.  In order to take off in Highlands, he needed to call a Military 800 number to find out if the area was "active," meaning they were training in the area.  If it was active, he wasn't allowed to take off.
