Monday

We started our pre-emergant crabgrass and spring fertilizer application this morning.  Using walk spreaders, Koty and I are getting all of the turf around greens and tees.  The bulk application of this won't occur until April 19th, well after our hydroseed application germinates.  The negative aspect of pre-emergent chemicals is that they prevent all seed from germinating, not just crabgrass!  The fertilizer we are using is a 21-0-12 Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassuim anaylsis with pendamethalin.  It is a Polyon product made in Alabama.  In fact, those of you who ever golfed at Farmlinks in Sylacauga, AL may know the product well.  The polymer coated fertilizer allows me to put down a high rate of Nitrogen, that will last all season long...into November!

This morning we are laying down stripes on the fairways...back by popular demand!
