After a winters worth of tree work and underbrushing, we do have numerous areas that may appear "unfinished." For example, the area below #5 ladies tee or the area above #5 tees on the bank. However, these areas were recently seeded with either fine fescues or wildflowers. Unfortunately, it is still early spring and germination has yet to happen. Furthermore, we cut back many Rhododendron that will also start to regrow later this year. By July, many of these areas will be spectacular. In the meantime, we need to be patient with these cool temperatures and wait until leaves are back on trees and these areas establish before passing judgement. There very well could be an area or two that would benefit from planting additional trees. For example, I would love to add flowering dogwoods as an understory plant in the woods above #6 green. Over time, that would be so beautiful!
