I am expecting a load of sod next week to finish off any roughs and also to sod the 3 tees we talked about. I am using Zeon Zoysisgrass; the same turf being installed on the fairways at Biltmore Forest GC (Asheville) during their current renovation. In fact, this sod is coming from one of their orders. Again, this turf will serve as a base to get other grasses to grow in...sort of like extreme overseeding! We aren't going for the look but rather the playability. These tees are too small for the amount of play they receive. Even worse, they get very little sun so recovery doesn't even occur.
Below, the path though the woods next to #5 ladies tee was graveled with river rock/ pebbles. Having this access again will be helpful to maintenance staff and those members who enjoy walking the golf course in the morning and evenings.
