Wednesday

Jerry Dalton is close to knocking all of the golf course aerification out.  He simply lacks #15-18 and the body of the driving range.  Once this is finished, the verticutter is going on the tractor to cultivate fairways.

Proud of these guys!  They have been going strong for almost 2 weeks, chipping brush across the golf course.  Chipping brush on the property allows to dispose of the chips on the course and not have to pay to haul this material off site.  It is a very physically intense job and requires a tremendous amount of energy! In addition, we are working in freezing temperatures.

The hedge planting along the 2nd hole is nearing completion.  We gained at least another 10 feet on the right hand side of this hole by removing the overgrown, mismatched plant material.  The end result is a smooth and clean look.

Above, you can see the amount of material that has been hauled to the back of the driving range since November.  This is a tremendous amount of material that would need to be hauled off site if the driving range was not available.  As I mentioned numerous times, this has saved the Club a lot of money over the years.  Only clean fill is allowed here.  This equates to sod scraps, soil, gravel etc.  Any asphalt, tree stumps, limbs or things like that need to be hauled off site and disposed of properly.  It is important not to bury stumps and other organic material because once they start to rot, sink holes develop.

The teaching building foundation is waiting for concrete.  Once the temperature are above freezing for a 24 hour period, concrete can be poured.
