University of Georgia Landscape Architecture

Below is a note I received from a professor of Landscape Architecture at Georgia.  Last Thursday, they brought several graduate students to HCC to look at the work we've done over the years.  It was certainly an honor to host them.

Dear Brian,

I just wanted to send a quick thank you for allowing us to visit and interrupt the Thursday night croquet matches last week. We were delighted to be there and get to see firsthand such an elegant place. You are so very lucky to have such a well designed venue to enjoy playing with friends and community members. I've never seen such a beautiful croquet court, not to mention the lovely courtyard next to the clubhouse. I can tell you with some authority that you have one of the world's best landscape architecture teams working for you in Hugh and Mary Palmer. 

 I am especially grateful for the chance to visit with my graduate students. Field learning is critical to the education of landscape architects so we are always thankful for opportunities to see well designed and built places. The visit was especially beneficial to our Chinese students.  You may have noticed how many Chinese students we have. They are so intrigued by all things American- so these field trips are real eye openers for them! 

Thank you again, and please come and visit our College and Gallery at UGA. We love having visitors and showing all the things we do in landscape architecture to make better places for people to live, work, and play!
