Thanks to you, Highlands CC participated for the second year in a row, the Rounds for Research program that benefits turfgrass research. Several years ago, the Carolinas GCSA came up with the idea to get most all Clubs in the Carolinas to donate a foursome of golf. These rounds were then auctioned online with the proceeds going to support university turfgrass research projects. Like most things these days, funding for research is decreasing, forcing turfgrass programs to scale back. Last year, the Carolinas GCSA raised over $80,000! This program was sold to GCSAA and the EIFG (Environmental Institute for Golf) who now are operating it on a much larger scale, nationwide.
