Tree work

Each winter we spend a considerable amount of time and money on tree work.  This includes limbing, planting and removing.  Trees get bigger each year or they die requiring their removal.  Also, the void left sometimes requires a tree to be replanted.  In order to keep a golf course playing like the architect intended, requires much attention to trees.  Also, for the sake of turf quality, optimizing the amount of sun the turf receives is necessary.

This is a picture showing the Oak trees between the 2nd and 3rd holes.  These trees were recently limbed up this winter.  By removing the sucker growth and lower limbs, we end up with a grand, layered appearance between the holes.

White Pines are much harder to achieve this look because of the many dead limbs they contain the entire way up the tree.  Each year we remove a handful of this dying species on the golf course.  Most are nearing their life expectancy.
