Friday

Last night we received another 1" of rain.  The course is very wet, eliminating the ability to finish topdressing tees.  The staff is back to picking up tree stump grindings.

I am putting out new hazard stakes that we made this winter.  Our hazard stakes are made from rhododendron limbs cut on the property.  Every spring, I study our marking and make sure it is possible to see stake to stake.  Of course, during the season, we paint all hazards on a weekly basis.  A properly marked golf course is crucial to the game.

Thursday afternoon, I toured Golf Professional, Ken Mattis, around the course to keep him up to speed on what we are working on.  Communication between the golf staff and maintenance staff is as important as any two departments.  The golf shop does a great job of keeping us abreast of their needs as we do to them.
