On Monday we are spraying greens with a chemical called Bensulide. Bensulide is a chemical to prevent Poa annua seed germination. Late August-September is prime time Poa germination time. In order to prevent more Poa from infesting our bentgrass greens, it is imperative to have this chemical down. This chemical does have a strong odor to it and you will smell it for a day or two after the initial application. We make two applications, 14 days apart. The second application will take place around September 2 or 3.
