Friday

After greens and tees received their sand topdressing, we are focusing on approaches now.  Consistent sand topdressing firms the surface.  This creates more of an opportunity for golf balls to bounce onto greens.  Granted it is a bit tricky in an area with 90+ annual inches of rain.
It is difficult to see in this photo but we stripped the sod off of the bunker face on #5.  We hauled in about 6 loads of soil and shaped the face to give it a more dramatic appearence.  This bunker is very flat and lacks any kind of character.  The new look will enable the golfer to see the bunker from the tee.
