Aerification

Today we are starting our annual big aerification process upon closure of the course.  The process we are doing here is refered to as core aerification.  This is the most effective way to reduce organic matter build-up and allow gas exchange to reach the roots of the plant.  By reducing organic build up in the soil and then following with a heavy topdressing allows for a variety of benifits including better drainage, and firmer greens.  This also will allow more nutrients to reach the plant providing better root systems and in turn healthier plants throughout the year.
